Today, May 5th, is Lonny and my anniversary. 46 years ago, we started our journey together. We were teenagers, and at that time, we thought we knew it all. We may have been wrong, but we did know one thing- we loved each other. Throughout our marriage, we learned a lot as we “grew up” together.
I found out that Lonny and I are opposites in many ways. For example, Lonny is a morning person and I am not. He is neat, and I am not. I like to talk about my emotions, he does not. I am a worrier, he is not. He is into car shows, and I am into fashion shows.
Although we are complete opposites in so many ways, we are the same in that we both have a strong work ethic and commit to our responsibilities. We both love to laugh and have fun!
It’s all about balance, and I believe we balance each other out well. Do we have disagreements? Absolutely! But we work through them- it may take a while at times, but we get back to a good place.
My life the last 46 years has been so full of adventures. We lived in many states, and have been fortunate to travel the world. We travel very well together and have so much fun!
The good times are balanced out with the not so good times. Health concerns were not so good times, but Lonny has been by my side and always has my back. He’s always encouraging, but never babying. I need that… always have and always will.
The ABSOLUTELY BEST part of our 46 years are our 2 amazing kids and our fabulous grandkids!!! Family is everything. Our love just pours out for them.
I can’t imagine growing old without Lonny. I am looking forward to what the future brings.
We get asked a lot “how do you do it…. 46 years??” One thing I can say, every weekend, Friday and Saturday, we go out. We still date! We have done this from the beginning.
And so, this is my love letter about us. Lonny, you make me feel loved and protected.
